#59: Embodying Main Character Energy for Manifesting

Dani Faust

Hello, hello. Welcome to the Manifest at cis podcast. I'm your host, coach, Danny Faust. How are you? I hope you're feeling good today. I am feeling good and I am really feeling good about this episode as well. Today we're talking about main character energy for manifesting. Love the thought of main character energy

I don't know if it's because I was an actor for so many years, or just because I love reading so much and I read and I just put myself in the place of the protagonist all the time. I don't know. Maybe it's because I played a lot of make believe as a kid, but I just love the idea around the term main character energy, and it's interesting because.

main character energy. When I heard it from like some Gen Z kid , I immediately had a positive connotation to the word, and I just felt like, yes, this is great. It's about prioritizing yourself. And then when I went to do a little Googling on it, it was all negative. It was like, oh, it's nice to cystic. It's treating everyone else like they're a supporting cast member timeout.

If this is your life, who's gonna be the main charact?  that makes everyone else what they can't be co-main characters. It's your one life. I digress. Listen, did you play make believe as a kid? If so, what we talk about today is gonna be so easy for you. Are you the main character in your life? Listen, if you are single, childless and not a caretaker for anybody, your answer better be a big, loud, resounding, enthusiastic.

Yes. Oftentimes we are the main characters in our life. Whether we o overtly say, Ooh, I'm in main character, energy or not. We are the main characters in our life until certain things happen, certain milestones kind of chip away at our main character. That, that's a technical term. If you have children, if you get married, if you're in that sandwich generation, taking care of kids and parents, if you're a caretaker to a family member or a friend, or if you have lost yourself in your work and you are just wholly devoted to your company or your boss or your.

there are many ways to allow that main character energy to kind of get sprinkled away. And I wanna encourage you to look at your life and let's shift back into main character energy. So when I say main character energy, what I mean is prioritizing you, remembering that you are literally the main character in your story.

You have this one life to live and this iteration of you from birth to death, you're the main character. The plot revolves around you, the actions you, you take. It's like those books, , choose your own adventure books. That's what your life is. The actions you take determine what's gonna happen in this dope ass movie.

Is it gonna be a dope ass movie or is it gonna be boring? , are we changing the channel on your, on your show, or are we watching riveted and intently and excited for the main character? That's up to you. That's up to the choices you make. That's up to how you choose to live your life. And by the. Boring is not necessarily bad for some people living the standard, typical, traditional American dream, you know, having the 2.5 kids in the house with the picket fence and the dog, and you work and you go home and you have your two weeks vacation.

For some people that is living the dream, that is the best, that's epitome of their main character or story. For some people that sounds like a living hell, and they would immediately turn the channel on that. , that doesn't make the story bad or good. So when I say boring, please know, boring could be just regular de however you want it to be and be absolutely perfect.

Not everything has to be big, grandiose, oh, I'm gonna run this 5 billion company and Oprah's gonna be my best friend, and then I'm gonna TRAs over to Ukraine and stop the war personally. And then I'm gonna go to like, it's doesn't have to. . It's really just a prioritizing you situation. Getting into main character.

Energy is about clarity, intention, and embodiment, and that requires you to prioritize, you, prioritize your thoughts, prioritize your actions, prioritize your feelings, prioritize your mood, prioritize what's around you, and please, if any of these things that I just said are trigger. I want you to do a little journaling around why focusing on you feels like a negative.

Why does focusing solely on yourself feel like you're doing something wrong or bad or selfish or narcissistic? Because that's just stuff that we picked up. We picked that up along the way. Remember, when we were children, we knew the world revolved around us. We knew it, and we behaved. . I want this whe, gimme that.

Whe and our needs were met over years. We learned how to more  socially acceptably, get our needs met, but something dimmed in us where a little bit of the belief that we should get our needs immediately met, kind of fell away Something. Feeling okay with what we're desiring kind of fell away.

Little different things kind of ate away at that big, bold confidence that we had as children. We didn't even recognize it or label it as such when we were children. And now when we are adults trying to get it back, that's what we recognize it is. It's literally confidence to be who you want to be and how you want to be and live, how you wanna live with who you wanna live, truly.

So main character energy. All intents and purposes, and for this conversation, it's about prioritizing you, period, like capital Y, o U, period. You feel me? Is this stirring up emotions? If this is stirring up emotions , that sound like, , oh my God, I should have done this years ago, or, what's wrong with me?

Why didn't I do X, Y, Z before? I want you to gently set those thoughts.  because ultimately, one, you'll get to healing around that later. Two, it does not serve us in this purpose. And three, we can't change the past, but we can change right now, going through the future. If this is bringing up feelings of, Ooh, I'm excited.

I wanna get into main character energy. How do I prioritize me? What does that even look like? Then stay with me, sis. You're in the right place. Let's get moving. Okay. , what does it look like in your day-to-day life? To be in main character energy, ultimately, I say it's about confidence. The confidence to just be how you wanna be,  who you wanna be, dressing, how you wanna dress, um, owning space the way you wanna.

Coming through the door, chin up, shoulders back, power pose, big bad bitch. Energy style, walking with like big strides, confident, smiling, socially adept, trusting yourself to make good choices, open to opportunities, open to people. Just looking people in the eye. Giving a firm handshake. That's kind of main character energy stuff.

I really should have had a better word right there than stuff, but . That's, but that's what we gonna get. . That's what it looks like in our day-to-day life. It's holding on to our confidence throughout the day, throughout any situation we may find ourselves in. It is taking responsibility for how we behave, how we act in search in certain situations, how we respond to certain situations, the words we choose in certain situations, how we interact with various people.

All of this. , it's like under a huge umbrella of confidence and self-trust and, and that's main character energy. So how do we build it if we're sitting here and recognizing like, oh my God, I am not the main character in my story. These damn kids done took over my life. I all I think about is what's next with the kids?

Or, you know, Ugh, I'm married and now my whole life revolves around my husband and his work and blah, blah. Or your work has taken over and you realize like, wait, have I ever done anything for myself for fun lately? What? Uh, what if you find yourself in one of those spaces? Please know, one girl, you're not alone.

So many people find themselves here, but what makes you different is that you are recognizing.  and similar to the Pivot episode, you're ready to make a change. You're ready to step into main character energy and start building that up until it is automatic and just who you are. So you don't have to intentionally say, let me get into main character energy today,

You just are that.

So how do we build main character energy? I said before that it starts with clarity and embodiment and all.  Clarity really is the first step. First, being clear that you're not currently in main character energy. Being clear that yes, you do want to be the main character in your life again, and clarity around what that actually means for you.

Because those examples that I gave earlier were just general, but what does it mean for you? Also clarity on what you want your life to look like in all area.  and that includes what you want you to look like a a part of main character energy is the way you're presenting to the world and how you feel and what you believe about the way you're presenting to the world.

So clarity on what you want your life to look like. Think about all the different areas of your. Work, career, parenting, family relationships, home life. , uh, hobbies or entertainment or fun? , maybe travel, maybe finance, business giving spiritual, I can't define your various life area. And depending on where you are in life, some things will and won't matter.

So for the life areas that matter to you most, write those out and get clear on what you want your life to look like in those areas.

When you're clear on that, crystal clear. , when you read it over and it feels like a beautiful, robust, magical, super fantastical version of your life, then you know you've, you've written it, right? If this still feels cloudy, reach for the closest thing to clarity you can reach for. Sometimes these exercises are overwhelming to people, or it's like, Ugh, I feel like I have to write down the most perfect thing in the world.

You don't, if it feels cloudy, just reach for what you. . Um, I know that, uh, I don't know exactly how much I wanna have in the bank for financial freedom, but I want my life to look financially free. You know what I mean? So it doesn't have to be okay, I've got 1.2 million in the bank and then I've got 700 liquid, and then I have these two investment homes, and then that one to bring in this much money.

You know, it doesn't have to be that granular, unless that feels good to you if you want it. That granular girl. . But if you just wanna reach for, there's financial freedom, or I feel ease around money, because that doesn't even say how much money you've got. It's just I feel ease around it, which is ultimately the goal, right?

To feel ease or peace or flow, or abundance or safe around money. So get clear, get as clear as you wanna get on what you want your life to look like, and then I want you to do a subsection about what you want you to look. , this is where you kind of think about your 2.0. By the way, if you haven't recognized that main character energy and your 2.0 are the same, then girl where you've been.

How are we even friends? , remember to go back to the 2.0 episodes. There are two of them now in the archives, , to kind of bolster what you're learning in this episode, not even what you're learning. This is not a learning for you. This is a reminder for you. So what you're being reminded of in this. . So I want you to take a little time to think about what you wanna look like, what your, what style your hair is in, how often you go to the salon or do you do it yourself?

What's your makeup like? What's your clothing like? What's, what style of clothes are you, are you wearing? What's your jewelry like? What's your nails looking like? What kind of shoes are you wearing? Are you in heels? Are you in the latest Jordans? Are you in Tim's? Like, what's your deal? What's your vibe?

Are you boho? Are you classic chic? Are you just a mix of all what, whatever. , what is the presentation that you are stepping into the world with? How is the world receiving you

and what is the energy you're stepping into the world with? Because main character energy is the bigger, the broader umbrella, right? But what's the vibe that you're holding? , what's the energy that you're holding? What's the thing that after you have walked through a room and interacted with people and then walked out the door, what are they saying about you?

What words are they using to describe you? What words are they using to describe your energy? Bring that energy with you always. I know I'm a ray of  sunshine. I know it . I'm dope as fuck. I'm funny.  and I leave people feeling good about themselves because I compliment a motherfucker down and it's fun.

I like that. This is who I am. I'm high energy and I lift the energy in a place that I enter and I own that. What's the energy you wanna. Maybe you're super soft and feminine and you, as you glide through a room, people feel like, Ugh, I love that soft energy. She feels warm. She feels like a flower pedal.

Her energy feels so soft. Maybe you want that. , maybe you wanna walk through the room and, and be so nurturing and be like Big Mama and have that energy where everyone wants to hug you and tell you all their problems and feel like you're their best friend. Maybe you want to come through with, um, a bold type shoulder back, c e o level energy and you wanna uplift everyone to feel like they are capable in that kind of confident, strong way too.

There is absolutely no wrong and I'm just picking like very simple examples. You are way more dynamic than what I just shared. So whatever you write down for you is absolutely correct for you. And even if it feels like it's pulling a little bit from that and a little bit from over there, it's still right.

You get to choose the energy that you walk into a room with. You get to choose the energy that you leave the room with. And as we are all energy alchemists and as you walk through that, , you are shifting everyone's energy in relation to you and your big main character energy. So decide what it is, okay?

And there's no wrong. Then it's just about embodying. Yay . The hard slash easy part. Embody that character. Head to toe dress. Like that version of you walk, like that version of you talk, like that version of you gesture, like, feel, like respond, like this requires mindfulness. . I'm not gonna say you need to meditate , but you need to meditate just in general because this helps you be mindful and present for making the moment by moment choice to stay in your big, bad bitch, main character energy all the time, and doing so makes it natural for you.

yes. It might sound like, okay, at first I gotta really take a few deep breaths and be intentional about, okay, I'm, this is the energy I wanna walk in the room with. I'm gonna be this person. I can do this. And you go forth and you expend that energy and you be that bright version of yourself, and then afterwards it feels like, Ooh, I expended a lot of energy doing that, but I did it.

I held onto that version of myself as I went through that. , and please know when I say went through that room, I don't necessarily mean walking through a room  sometimes it's literally walking through a room. But I just mean all the interactions that you have, all the things that you do about your day, all the spaces that you're in.

So home, then at work, then at the happy hour, then at the school, whatever the things are that's, that's the room air quote. . Okay. So as I was saying, this does require mindfulness, and as you continue to practice being in this main character Energy slash 2.0 U Energy, what's great about it is that it gets easier and easier and you won't have to think, so, you won't have to think about talking, like walking, like dressing, like it'll be automatic.

It will become who you are, how you.

Period. Look around at your surroundings. Look at your house, look at your car, look at your office at work, look at whatever, and make sure it looks like what your main character should be looking at should as a judgment word, but would be looking at in any situation, does your home look and feel the way you want it to?

Change what you can. I'm not saying go hire a decorator, switch out everything unless you have the capacity and desire to do so. But what I'm saying is shift what you can to be closer to what your main character would be experiencing car, home work, wherever you spend most of your time. Office. What does it look like?

And more importantly, what does it feel like?  what's right for you? Maybe right now you have all sorts of luxurious things all through your home, and it feels opulent and ornate, which is beautiful, but you recognize that your main character wants a more minimalist approach, or maybe it's vice versa.

There's no right and no wrong. Remember,

and remember if this is , a little bit, and you can write all of these things down before you actually start doing them, that will probably help you have like your blueprint of main, your main character and who and how you choose to be. If this is difficult for you, let me not use difficult. If this requires more intention than you expected or more effort than you expected, remember you can potentially.

temporarily . Choose a character to support you as your muse. A character from a show that you just really resonated with, or an actor that you just love their life. You follow them on Instagram and you're like, ah, that's the vibe I wanna be, or an entrepreneur, or just any public figure. And start there.

What will happen is you might start.  and as you begin this work, you'll be like, Uhuh, that's not for me. I need to tweak this. Yeah. That feels more like me. You know what? I really don't like the way she dresses. I love the way she behaves in public, but I don't like the way she, , speaks or gestures with her hands that way or whatever.

I'm just spitballing. But anything, you're gonna tweak it until it's actually you. So if that first made you think, uh, I don't wanna copy someone, you're. You're taking the bits that you love and you're discarding the rest because the bits that you love, you only love them because that's already who you are.

Who the ideal version of yourself is, who your 2.0 really is. That's what makes you like somebody  because you see yourself in them. We are so self-absorbed in the best of ways, , but that's what makes you really have an affinity for someone because of something that you see in them that you love and either desiring yourself or recognizing yourself as well.

this is just the most confident, most self-assured, most most self trusting, most unbothered version of yourself that we are opening into. You know what? Fun sidebar, , when I tell my clients to, to like start embodying their 2.0, I always tell them it's really easy to start or try this when they're travel.

It's so much easier to embody that new version of yourself when you're in a new setting and you don't have to be like off in Greece or wherever. It can literally be the Howard Johnson down the road. Does, does Howard Johnson still exist? Because in my head I said Hampton in, but then Howard Johnson just came out my mouth.

So if that doesn't exist, the Hampton Inn down the road, you can just have two nights away and begin embodying. Your 2.0 via staycation. It's really a beautiful practice. It starts before you leave though, cuz you're going to have to pack clothing that that is for your main character. That your main character would choose, that your 2.0 would choose.

But all you do is when you go away, wake up as your main character and behave as them all. . What's great is that you're not in your local, your normal setting, so you're not cooking the same old foods, you're not interacting with the same old people. You get to behave and really try out your main character energy, your actual true, real next level self.

with no, , worries. No worries about feeling. Oh, embarrassing. Because they know that I don't normally act like this or what are they thinking about my new outfit or, because it's just who you are. These random people who don't know you from Adam. This is just who you are. It's a great, , experience and experiment to interact with the world in a place where they don't know you, so you feel freer to be.

just cuz up until now you haven't felt free to be you otherwise you wouldn't have any use for this activity or this podcast episode. Right? And this is not a judgment. We all get into these little smaller versions of ourselves and then we all need at on some level, it's like we need the permission to become our real selves again.

So here's the permission. You have the permission slip bloop. You did not. But now you have it. So going forward, ah, big exhale. You're free to go forth as your main character. So behave as them all day. Try it on a weekend, try it on a, like, if you can't do a staycation, just take a weekend, drive out somewhere and go through the day in a different town, a couple towns over, whatever it is.

How does all of this relate to manifesting? Well, embodying your 2.0 is literally the way to manifest your desires. It is holding the energy of who and how you wanna be, and the energy of who and how you wanna be is the same energy where your desires are waiting for you to allow them in. So do the things that your main character would be doing right now.

Maybe she would be listening to a personal development podcast.  or maybe she'd be out volunteering. Maybe she'd be shopping. Maybe she'd be with her boo. Who knows? Only you. What's your 2.0 doing right now? Go do that. And if you are multitasking and you're listening to this podcast while doing something else, what's that something else?

Are you scrolling? I. , are you sketching in a sketchbook? Are you practicing the piano? I don't know. , what is 2.0? Doing? The closer you get to that version of you, the closer you get to all the things manifesting in your reality. This requires being clear on your goals and how you want your life to look, and most importantly, how you want it to.

it's literally stepping into the energy of no resistance. Resistance is what is between you and your goals right now. Right. And it's, it's self-generated  through years of conditioning and programming and belief crafting. Right. But it's also completely remov.  and one beautiful way to remove it is to assume it is gone via behaving as slash embodying your 2.0 main character energy.

It shifts that resistance away. I always compare resistance to um, like clinging wrap that clear plastic wrap. It's like this clear film that's over your eyes, over the front of. Everything you want is always streaming towards you. It's like a unrelenting flow of abundance and your desires and just all, all the things, but it just can't get through.

You can see it cause it's right over there, but it just can't get through because it's clear . Film is of resistance, is blocking the path. So let's just reach forward, pull that cling, wrap down , throw it to the side and allow some things you can journal on is what would things look like if I was 100% confident, if I knew I was a master manifester and can get whatever I wanted?

How would things change? How would my life change? How would life look . If I released all of my resistance around having my desires around X, Y, Z, whatever, how would my life change? How would my life change if I chose to embody my 2.0 from this moment forward?

How would my life change if I decided to be my main character self from this moment on journal on those?  and I wanna encourage you to bring your main character energy to all facets of your life. What would dating look like? What would your marriage look like? How is parenting your kids looking different?

What are your friendships looking like? Your finances looking like? What is your career looking like? Are you still working in the same career? Did you make a, a pivot? Did you start a side business? What's your health and wellness looking like?

All of the things, it isn't selfish. , it's what you're here for, to create the life you want. It isn't narcissistic. It supports everyone. When you live the life you want, this is you remembering that you're here to live your one life, this go round, and you want to make it spectacular and on your terms. So my friends, please go forth and bring that main character energy to anything that you're doing from this minute.

When in doubt, remember that you did it as a kid and you can do it again now. So practice being the you, you want to be. You deserve to be her asap, like right now, right now, and watch all the things that you're designing. Just roll easily into your experience. It's a beautiful life. I love you very much, and I'll talk to you soon.

Bye.
